JMC 3154 - Multi-Media Reporting

JMC 3154 is a junior level course that teaches students how to gather, write, and produce news. The course focuses on multimedia elements and builds on previous courses to emphasize photography, audio, and graphics. I learned how to use information I gathered for accurate and engaging news stories. Another focus of the class was effective interviewing and source-gathering techniques. I learned to apply legal and ethical standards in my interviews, as well as how to ask good questions. The course emphasizes professional values such as clarity, accuracy, fairness, and responsible use of technology. During the class I completed several reporting assignments, one live event assignment and I am currently working on my final project.
